3 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU’RE STUCK IN TRAFFIC

3 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU’RE STUCK IN TRAFFIC

When you’re living in a mega city like Beijing or New York, getting stuck in traffic a couple of times a week is inevitable. With Black Friday sales and Christmas holidays around the corner, your city streets are bound to be full of people and cars.  While being stuck in traffic is frustrating, there are a few things you can do to turn a traffic jam into quality time.

  1. Learn a language. Spending 1-2 hours in traffic on a daily basis? It is a perfect opportunity to learn something new. Why not learn spoken Mandarin? Other than that, listening to an audio book on time management or self-development will make the time spent in traffic worthwhile.
  2. Call your loved ones. Ain’t nobody’s got time for phone calls anymore. Yet a phone conversation may be the closest thing to meeting someone in person. Call the person closest to you, ask them about their day, complain about the stupid traffic jam and you will feel much better right away.
  3. Plan your holiday gifts. Holiday gift shopping can be a daunting task, especially considering the number of people in the shops. To make your shopping more efficient, plan what you’re going to get for your relatives in friends to the last detail. This will help cut the time spent in overcrowded malls in half at the very least. And what better time to do the planning than when you have nothing else to do anyway — while you’re waiting for the red light to switch.
  4. Or you could always do something like this:

Happy holidays!
